I know it seems like there are dozens of group-buying sites out there - and there are - but I'd like to introduce you to another one, Gaggle of Chicks.
Gaggle of Chicks uses a simple idea. A great deal - usually at 40% or 50% off - that is "hatched" when a certain number of people buy it (the last few deals, the number was 3, so it's not hard to reach). They have local deals for New York, and then nationwide deals.
What sets this site apart is that it's geared towards moms and mom-friendly products. For example, the current deal is an "I Like" journal. Other national deals have included jewelry, baby car seat covers, and holiday cards.
The deal I jumped on was for Vinyl Attraction, which makes vinyl stick-on wall art. I've been wanting some of those quotes you can stick on your walls, so this was perfect. Deals do overlap somewhat; the Vinyl Attraction deal is still on today and part of tomorrow, and the I Like book is good until midday Tuesday. The next deal will be $25 for $50 Worth of All-Natural Skincare Products for Moms.
I found the site easy to use. When you log on and choose "Nationwide" or NY, you see the current deal and any deals that are still available, plus the next deal. Signup was a breeze, and choosing the deal was easy. Service was fast, too. I logged off the site, checked my email, and found my gift codes!
When you sign up and refer friends, you'll get $10 when they make a purchase, so that's a plus too.
