I had a chance to review a CD of activities based on the new Rainbow Brite thanks to Mom Select.
Rainbow Brite is one of many standard childhood favorites from the 80s that has been updated for today's kids. Like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Care Bears, the new Rainbow Brite is different. Not necessarily in a bad way, just different from how I remembered her. Dolls from Rainbow Brite and friends are making their way onto store shelves. There are also activities and animations to watch on the website. They really held my toddler's attention, and took me down memory lane (albeit a slightly different path).
The readers who win this month's giveaway will each receive a CD as part of their prize pack!

Fun Freetime: Mama's Footsteps
Walk in the snow (if you still have it) or sand and challenge your kids to follow your footsteps without stepping between them.
Fun Freetime: Pointillism
Your kids can make pointillism paintings (look up Georges Seurat) using paint and pencil erasers. Have kids make a general outline of what they want to draw, then fill in the shapes using the eraser end of a pencil to add dots in each color.
