Fun Freetime: Bubbles!

First of all, if you want to make your own bubble solution, it's pretty easy. Mix 1/2 c of liquid dishwashing soap (not dishwasher soap) with 2 c water and 2 tsp sugar or 1/4 c corn syrup. (Other recipes call for glycerin, but sugar and corn syrup are often more on-hand). You can make wands out of pipe cleaners, small cookie cutters, cans, lids with holes punched through them, and more - be creative!

You can play games with bubbles too. Add food coloring to different jars and have kids make art. Play dodge ball with bubbles. See who can stack the most bubbles on the end of a want. Play bubble tag - the possibilities are endless!

PSA: Buzzed Driving

In order to be eligible, you need to have completed an undergraduate degree in one of the STEM fields by June 2011 with a 3.0 or higher, and be able to demonstrate a commitment to the program and its goals. Those selected will complete a field-based master's degree in education and commit to teach for three years or more in a high-needs school. To help them, they will also receive mentoring in the classroom.

The program is designed for classrooms in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio, and that is where the participating universities are located.
