Healthy Habits: A Spoonful of Sugar....

Need help getting kids to take medicine? Any of the following can work, depending on the age of your child:

- Bribery works with many kids old enough to reason it out. Even with younger kids, something that tastes good right after medicine can help keep the taste from lingering.
- Have flavors added at the pharmacy (but don't try it at home, as some might taste worse).
- Hold your child still and squeeze the medicine into the side of his or her mouth with the head tilted up slightly.
- Have your child suck on an ice cube or ice pop to help numb the taste buds.
