Consumer Critique: Purex Crystals

I recently got a bottle of Purex Complete Crystals to try out. These are really unique - instead of adding to a dispenser and they only go in the wash at the end of the cycle, these go in right away and spend the whole time with your clothes.

I actually don't use fabric softeners, because they can reduce the absorbency of fabrics like towels and cloth diapers. I didn't know why, though - it's because most traditional liquid softeners actually are oil-based. But the Crystals are 92% natural and not oil-based. This also has an impact on sportswear fabrics with a wicking effect. They're also one of the few fabric softener methods that are completely safe to use on children's sleepwear, since it doesn't affect flame-retardant fabrics.

Crystals come in Fresh Spring Waters, Lavender Blossom, and Tropical Splash scents. The scents are nice, not overpowering. They are also safe for use in high-efficiency and standard washers.

If you're looking for an alternative to traditional softeners, give Purex Crystals a try!

Disclosure: I received a sample bottle of Purex Crystals to facilitate this review.
