According to a recent Rent.com survey, 87 percent of U.S. adults no longer consider owning a home to be the most essential aspect of their American Dream. Rent.com wants to hear about what your American Dream is. All U.S. individuals are invited to submit their New American Dream, for a chance to win one of three prizes:
- Grand Prize (1 winner): Free rent for a year (up to $10,000)
- Second Prize (1 winner): A dream Caribbean vacation package, including $3,000 worth of jewelry from Diamonds International, hotel accommodations at the 4-star Frenchman’s Reef & Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort on St. Thomas for seven (7) nights, eight days, round-trip air transportation for two persons to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and $500 in dining and activities certificates
- Honorable Mention Prize (5 winners): $100 Visa® debit card
Simply submit a 1 minute video or 250 word essay describing their New American Dream by visiting the contest page. Entries will be accepted from February 14, 2011 until May 2, 2011.
Entrants are encouraged to share their submissions via social media channels, asking friends and family to vote for their entry on May 3. Twenty-five finalists will be chosen based on the number of votes that their submissions receive. Winners will be chosen based upon a combination of community votes and the votes of a panel of expert judges.
