Consumer Critique: Pretty Neat (and giveaway)

I recently had the chance to review Pretty Neat: The Buttoned-Up Way to Get Organized and Let Go of Perfection. I really enjoyed this book. It reminded me of one of my friend's parenting philosophies, to keep manageable standards. The whole point of the book revolved around ignoring "org porn" - the unsustainable (for most of us) standard set in home magazines - and focusing on making manageable changes.

The book is written by the creators of buttoned up organizational products, but it doesn't read like a long advertisement for their stuff. Instead, it has a lot of handy tips, divided into chapters devoted to specific areas, like toys, schedules, and email. There's even a chapter devoted to making it easier to say no (a hard thing for any of us). I highly recommend this book to anyone who would like to tackle organizational projects in their home.

I also have the opportunity to offer a giveaway. To enter, comment with either one area of your house you'd most like to organize, or one organizational solution that's worked for you. Deadline is March 21st. The winner will receive a copy of the book. One winner will be chosen out of all of the blog winners to win a $200 debit card and $50 of buttoned up products.
