Mealtime Magic: Dirt

If you have a spring party to plan, dirt cake or dirt pudding are easy ways to have themed treats that people will enjoy. There are a lot of ways to make it, too. They can be served in small glass dishes or votive candleholders to make it look a little nicer, if desired.

One option is to use chocolate cake. After baking, crumble pieces into dishes with gummy worms. If serving from a large dish, poke gummy worms into the pieces. Top with green-tinted Cool Whip or frosting, or green-tinted coconut grass.

Another option uses pudding. Mix crushed chocolate cookies in the pudding, or use as a layer on top of the pudding. For an extra touch, if serving in individual containers, add a sprig of mint and use popsicle sticks as name tags to resemble plant tags.
