Fun Freetime: Ball Games

Here are a few easy ball games.

Grab N Go, or Ball Chicken - this is a version of the game of chicken played with a ball. Players need to decide whether to grab the ball in the middle of the playing field, or chase the person who grabs the ball. A point is earned if the ball makes it back to the player's base, or if the player tags the ball carrier.

Asteroid - One team kicks a ball (planet) around, while another team throws their ball (asteroid) at the planet to try to hit it. When they do, they switch roles.

Team Juggle - A group of kids designs a pattern for throwing between them. People always catch from and throw to the same people in the pattern. Start with one ball, and see how many balls they can juggle as a group without dropping balls.

Hoop Guard - Each player stands in a hula hoop. They try to throw bean bags into other people's hoops while keeping bean bags out of their own hoop. A point is scored for each successful throw.
