Healthy Habits: Vacation Food

Eating out is fun, but you don't want to do it all the time. It's easy to overeat, choose too many treats, or go over budget. So try these tips to keep the calories and cost in check.

- Bring a cooler filled with healthy snacks, like fruits and veggies, trail mix, tortillas or wraps and fillings.
- Don't be afraid to bring some prep tools, like a can opener, cutting board and knife, and bowls.
- If you can get a hotel with a kitchenette, or even a microwave and fridge, use a grocery store and meals in the hotel.
- Instead of ordering off the kid's menu, order regular menu items or sides and share.
