I recently let you know about Amex's Facebook initiative to provide continuing support to Japan in ongoing tsunami cleanup efforts. They now have a new initiative - I Will Volunteer - released to support the upcoming 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance, a federally-recognized initiative led by MyGoodDeed and HandsOn Network. Using I Will Volunteer, you can search the 9/11 Day database and sign up for volunteer opportunities by location, then share your commitment with your friends on Facebook to encourage further participation.
Locally, Amex also partnered with the National Trust for Historic Preservation to launch Partners in Preservation in Minneapolis earlier this month. Residents can participate by voting for your favorite historic place to receive a preservation grant on Facebook.com/PartnersinPreservation.
