Claussen, one of the most well-known pickle makers, is challenging pickle enthusiasts around the country to show their love for this crunchy delight for a chance to win a trip to Iceland or Alaska. Through its “Conquer the Cold” Facebook contest, Claussen is asking its fans to prove they can conquer the cold by capturing a snapshot of them next to the Claussen Pickles, located in the refrigerated section of grocery stores. Then, visit Claussen’s “Conquer the Cold” Facebook page and upload that picture for a chance to win cool cold-weather gear or an all-expense paid trip to Iceland or Alaska!
The contest stems from a larger campaign Claussen Pickles, a division of Kraft Foods, that stakes Claussen’s claim to being the best pickle in the supermarket and reminds shoppers where to find them.
The campaign features intrepid English supermarket explorer, Sir Edwin Horsham, who comically drives a dogsled around a New Jersey supermarket. Available on YouTube, the campaign has attracted more than 1.3 million views to date. The videos include: Journey to the Claussen Pickles, Mission Eulogy, Dangerous Mountain Path, and Polar Bear Showdown.
