Have you heard of Play-Doh Play Dates? It's a really fun, well-laid out site that provides some great ideas for use with Play Doh if you lack a creative muscle (like me). It could even be used in a homeschool or preschool setting! There are a variety of themes that include printable and even some healthy snack ideas.
We decided to try some sports ideas. My younger one was only able to make a ball (Natali luckily called it a basketball, so it was good), and Natali made a hockey stick (sort of, but it's close enough).
The theme for September is pizza shop, so there are lots of great ideas, including calzone and gelatto. There are great printable crafts to make a pizza box and lifter, the store sign, and a menu, and a great, easy meal idea - English muffin pizza. It's easy to find a variety of other themes, too, including sports, holidays, and art; or to find some of the other themes, such as back-to-school or spring picnic.
Play-Doh is a great toy to have for kids. It inspires creativity and there are also quite a few educational toys that go along with Play-Doh. It's non-toxic, fairly inexpensive, widely available, and easy to clean (just let dry and brush or vacuum up).
