Consumer Critique: The Complete Idiot's Guide®

With list prices under $20, they're very affordable gifts - or good investments, since many of the guides can help you save money buy learning how to make or do things on your own.

Every one of the book I've ever read has been very easy to understand, with a good balance between in-depth information and broad overviews. Even though they refer to "idiots" in the title, they really do paint an excellent picture of the topic discussed, and the simple language makes them accessible to all. There are books for health topics, recipes, learning music, enrichment topics (such as chemistry), and more. Some of the more unique ones include The Complete Idiot's Guide to Amigurumi (perfect for someone who currently crochets and wants to learn how to make new pets), The Complete Idiot's Guide to Making Natural Soaps, and The Complete Idiot's Guide to Easy Freezer Meals (great for busy parents or college students, or young adults just starting out on their own).
