Website Spotlight: FreePriceAlerts

FreePriceAlerts.com is a free online tool which helps consumers track prices, follow sales and ultimately find the best deal. Tthe company announced recently that the site has facilitated over 1 million transactions, and has evaluated over $500 million worth of products.

The site's browser tool searches tens of thousands of retail sites (with new sites being added each day) to notify consumers instantly of the lowest price for any consumer good on the web. And unlike shopping sites, FreePriceAlerts doesn’t require shoppers to shop any differently than they normally would. With FreePriceAlerts, if there’s a lower price, the consumer will get a pop-up alert right then and there — no hopping back and forth between sites, no extra steps.

It allows shoppers to:
- Create wish lists that prompt the service to continuously search for best prices
- Set target prices (how much a consumer is willing to pay for a particular item) and get alerts when that price becomes available
- Access Price Alert email notifications, price histories, and integrated checkout

It's compatible with Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome and Safari. The company now offers a mobile application as well, allowing consumers to find the best deals on the go.
