Consumer Critique: Mother-Ease Cloth Diapers

I recently participated in a review program from Tomoson.com for Mother-Ease Cloth Diapers. Specifically, I got to try the Mother-Ease All-in-One.

For me, the cost benefit of using cloth diapers greatly outweighs the time involved washing them. I've found that it's a lot less intimidating for baby sitters to use Velcro-closed diaper covers or all-in-ones so they don't have to worry about pins. That's the nice thing about this diaper - it's an all-in-one, so you don't need a separate diaper and cover.

This diaper was really easy to put on. It's also adjustable, by moving the snaps, which is great, since not all babies are the same size and shape, even if they're the same weight. It also had good absorbency. My daughter hates being wet at all, so we have to double-diaper her at night, and she still wakes up sometimes, but this really seemed to be better for her. Diaper changes were easy with no pins involved. It is more costly than plain Gerber flatfolds, but it's still cheaper than disposable diapers per use!

Mother-Ease Cloth Diapers also sells several other diapers and liners. You can also buy packages of diapers, which saves you some with volume discount. Printed covers are also available in several colors and designs, and they also sell diapering accessories (pails, wet bags, etc), swim diapers, nursing pads, and a few other products.

Disclosure: I received a sample of Mother-Ease Cloth Diapers to facilitate my review. All opinions are mine.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. Time Tidbits: Email

Don't constantly check email, even work-related email. It distracts you from the task at hand and makes everything take longer. Instead, schedule a time to check, once every few hours, and get it all taken care of at once.

Parenting Pointers: Yelling

If you find yourself yelling more than you'd like, try some of these tips to tone it down.

- Instead of yelling, try whispering. By lowering your voice or talking differently, you may encourage your kids to pay more attention.
- Take a time-out - for yourself. Count to ten, take five minutes, whatever is appropriate.
- Remind yourself that your kids are kids, especially those under the age of 5. Acting out is age-appropriate, even if it's not pleasant or allowed. Along the same lines, act your own age. If you don't like your kids throwing tantrums, why would they like it if you do?
- Use family rewards. If no one yells for a given time period, then have a fun family activity.
