Consumer Critique: Gracie's Gift

Here's a cute book for girls - especially girls who are tomboys and resist getting dressed up. Gracie's Gift is a cute story about a girl who doesn't like to wear bows at all, but whose mother likes her to wear them, and explains why. The story is told in a nicely flowing rhyme, and the illustrations are beautiful. The book is written from a religious perspective, as the mom talks about Gracie being her gift from above. The author, Andrea Trosclair is inspiring too - when MS forced her to quit work as a nurse, she turned to creating children's books, of which Gracie's Gift is the first. A portion of the book's sales are donated to the MS Foundation of America, and if you order through her website, you can even get the book personalized (just be sure to follow the instructions on the site).

Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of the book to facilitate this review.
