Healthy Habits: Sneaky Fitness at Home

Here are a lot of easy ways to sneak some extra activity into your daily routine.

- If you're watching TV, don't use the remote. Get up to change channels. Move during commercials (or the show itself) - sit-ups, pushups, stretching, anything except just sitting.
- Stir with a spoon and chop with a knife instead of using electric appliances to mix and chop.
- Don't yell across the house. Go upstairs, downstairs, or down the hall to talk to someone.
- Stand while doing hair and makeup, and pace (or do calf raises or squats) while on the phone.
- Wash dishes or your car by hand instead of using a dishwasher or car wash.
- Listen to audiobooks and move while you're listening, either exercising or doing chores. You can "read" and clean a closet at the same time. It'll save time and make the chore more enjoyable.
