Healthy Habits: Sneaky Fitness at Work

Here are a lot of easy ways to sneak some extra activity into your work schedule.

- Drink lots of water. You'll move more when you go to the bathroom, it's healthier to stay hydrated, and you'll be less tempted to snack.
- Set a regular timer on your computer (TimeOut or BreakPal) and stand up and stretch at regular intervals. Added benefit: it's better on your eyes too.
- Use a smaller water bottle that you have to get up and refill more often.
- Stand up when you're on the phone.
- Walk outside to eat lunch.
- Consider a standing desk, stability ball as a chair, or pedal machine to burn extra calories while you type.
- Stand while reading mail.
- Consider walking meetings for one-on-one conversations.
- Go to a co-worker's office or cubicle instead of sending an email.
