Who doesn’t like to save? We all like to save money where we can. When we moved, savings was forefront on our minds. We looked online to Shop Electricity Rates and Save in Texas, so we could save on our energy costs. My daughter loves to save. I don’t mean money. She is eight, and she loves to save everything and anything. She saves notes from school, junky toys she gets from the dentist after a good check-up, and even the birthday cards she received years ago. I am not so sentimental. I am quite the opposite. I love to throw things away. I despise clutter, and lots of “things” make me feel claustrophobic. If I see something that seems to serve no purpose anymore, out it goes. I have never been one to hold on to items to preserve a memory. I guess this is because for at least the time being, my memory is pretty good. I keep old pictures, and I love to look through those, but I just can’t bring myself to holding onto every picture and worksheet my kids do at school. My mom saved a big box of this kind of stuff from when I was a child. I have to admit, I did enjoy looking through the box with my own daughter. It was a great trip down memory lane, but after I was done looking at it, I was ready to throw it away. Maybe as I get older and my memory fails me, I will start to hold onto more things. Until then, out with the old.
