Shopping Savings: LowestMed App

Do you or a loved one have pricey prescription drugs to take on a regular basis - or do you want a resource for finding low-cost prescription drugs even for one-time uses? LowestMed is a site that will search your area for the lowest drug price. They've recently launched a mobile app, and I was able to get a walkthrough to check out how it works. I think it's really slick. The difference in price is amazing. This app (or website) is perfect for people who have high-deductible insurance and/or no prescription coverage. It provides consumers with the ability to view and compare prescription drug prices – including $4 generic drugs – at leading supermarket and pharmacy chains in their local area on an iPhone or Android device. The app also includes access to the free LowestMed discount card (excellent if you don't currently have a prescription discount card through another program), which when displayed at the point of sale ensures savings of 10 to 85 percent off of retail prices. The app will also identify the store location with the lowest price and provide a GPS-enabled map to that store.

The app and website are easy to use, and can save you a lot of money. It will also display the difference between brand name and generic drugs, which can save you even more!
