Consumer Critique: Stonyfield Yogurt

If you're trying to avoid certain ingredients, such as high-fructose corn syrup and artificial colors or flavors, you might want to check your yogurt labels. And if you're looking for an organic option, Stonyfield has a great variety of yogurts, for kids and adults. YoBaby and YoToddler are designed for the littlest kids, with whole milk. They also include many yogurt blends, where the yogurt is mixed with fruit, vegetables, and cereal to provide extra nutrition. YoKids come in kid-pleasing flavors and smaller containers; they also have the squeezable tubes, if your kids like those. And they have a variety of adult products, from 0% fat to whole milk, in several flavors, and Greek yogurt as well.

My family loves the taste of Stonyfield. With my picky daughters, the YoBaby meals were a great way to get them to have some vegetable nutrition mixed in with the yogurt (it sounds weird, but it tasted fine). They also have a great "chocolate underground" flavor that my husband likes to have when he's got a sweet tooth.

Stonyfield has also set up a website, I Will Know My Food, to help educate consumers about organic food. It has a lot of great features: a section where you can learn about Stonyfield, enter to win the Know Your Food Adventure Sweepstakes, and find some great tips about environmentally-friendly food.

Disclosure: I received free Stonyfield yogurt through the Moms Meet program.
