You pick your country, then location, then the type of bulb, and the planting guide will tell you exactly what you need to do. Anyone can grow bulbs, not just expert gardeners.
Bulbs make great gifts too - instead of giving flowers, give a bulb and the recipient will have flowers year after year. We bring some of the cuttings from the bulbs indoors in the spring and summer, and I get fresh flowers every few weeks without paying for bouquets all the time.
