Thrifty Thinking: Craigslist

If you've got a student heading back to college, you know they have a lot to worry about, being on their own often for the first time, working out living situations and making sure they have all they need. If you aren't familiar with Craigslist, you might want to check it out - it's a great way to find a lot of items in your area at great prices (and sometimes free). It can help you with a variety of issues, such as housing, roommates, help with moving, school supplies, furniture, and more. College kids can even use it to find odd jobs, internships, and regular paid employment in areas that might not often be posted on other sites, such as tutoring, nannying, and much more.

Craigslist has local sites all over the country, so you don't have to worry about weeding through ads that don't apply to you. I've used it to buy, sell, and give away things, as well as hire nannies for my kids, so I know it's really easy to use!
