It is that time of year again when brands start to launch their giving
programs for the holiday season. Publishers Clearing House just
launched their Give Back program for the holiday season and will be
giving away more than $100,000. They are quadrupling the amount they
gave last year and focusing on three key charities (ASPCA, Susan G.
Komen and St. Jude). Fans get to vote on which charity wins which amount
of cash. Since they also
know how much their fans love to win they are sweetening the deal and
giving away a $500 cash prize every time they hit 5,000 votes.
So more votes means more prizes!
About the charities:
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's lifesaving mission is to find cures for children battling
cancer and other deadly diseases, and thanks to donations, no family
ever pays St. Jude for anything. St. Jude founder Danny Thomas believed
that "no child should die in the dawn of life."
Susan G. Komen works to end breast cancer in the U.S. and
throughout the world through ground-breaking research, community health
outreach, advocacy and programs in more than 30 countries.
The ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®)
is the first animal welfare organization in North America and works to
provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals. The
ASPCA is a national leader in the areas of anti-cruelty, community
outreach and animal health services.
