Consumer Critique: Tape It & Make It

Do you like duct tape? Are you amazed and inspired by people who make duct tape prom dresses? Then you'll love the book Tape It & Make It: 101 Duct Tape Activities.

I'm not very crafty, but I found this book really easy to use, and really fun! Duct tape is easy to find anywhere, and you can find it in tons of different colors and patterns too - which will just enhance many of these crafts. There are many different types of projects you can make: usable accessories (sandals, wallet, and so on), clothing (aprons, neckties, and more), toys and decorations (like various flowers and animals), and mega-scale projects (duct-tape skyscraper for your living room, perhaps?).

I had a great time reading this book. And my projects actually turned out ok, even though my craft skills are roughly on par with a five-year-old!

The author, Richela Fabian Morgan, is the author of three previously published eco-friendly books devoted to do-it-yourself crafts. Ms. Morgan also has a website, RichelaFabianMorgan.com, on which she writes about making "stuff," teaching eco-crafts to friendly (and not so friendly) neighborhood kids, and finding treasures on the streets of her village. She lives in Larchmont, New York, with her husband and two kids.

Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of the book to facilitate this review.
