Did you know that nearly one million high school students drank alcohol and got behind the wheel last year? When teenagers drink any alcohol at all, not only is it illegal for them to drive, but it puts them at extremely high risk for a dangerous crash. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently released a Vital Signs package on teen drinking and driving.
Parents can play an important role in keeping their teen drivers safe. The most important message for parents is this: We can – and must—do more to protect the lives of young drivers and everyone who shares the road with them.
