Caring Causes: Turkey Day

The Life Time Turkey Day 5K in Minneapolis has been a healthy way to start Thanksgiving Day since 1989. Participants can run, jog or walk the 3.1 miles with friends and family. Even kids can participate in the Turkey Day Kids K, an indoor fun run held at the Life Time Fitness Target Center indoor track with a Kids Carnival to follow.

Life Time Turkey Day 5k joined forces with Second Harvest Heartland to collect food for the less fortunate in our community. Last year, 10,076 pounds of food were collected at the Turkey Day 5K and this year participants are encouraged to donate food or funds to assist Minnesota residents in needs.

The 5K race starts near the Life Time Fitness Target Center (600 North 1st Ave Minneapolis) and takes participants past City Hall, the Metrodome, the Guthrie Theater, Gold Medal Park and the Mighty Mississippi River.

Turkey Day Kids K and Kids Carnival: 7:00 a.m-10:00 a.m. (Featuring characters from Sesame Street Live)
