Parenting Pointers: Clearing House for a Sale

Selling your house is a big undertaking which may take months. If you want to have better chances at it, every real estate agent will tell you that you need to prepare the house for a sale. An important thing to understand is that while your property is being advertised for selling, many people will contact you for viewing the house. Therefore, you need to make sure that your house looks its best because you may literally need to provide access every other day. A dirty, messy and cluttered home wont attract potential buyers.

Even if you are only selling an empty house without any furniture, it still needs to look presentable enough and welcoming for viewings. Moreover, you never know when you could have a signed deal so you need to be as prepared for leaving the place as possible. This includes doing a full house clearance. Make sure you deal with this task before you advertise the house. This way you will be able to take beautiful photos of the inside and outside of the house without fearing that all the clutter is visible. A full house clearance is not something we do often. We tend to buy and store items for ages and keep belongings that we have inherited or old, unwanted items. This tendency is present in perhaps 90% of houses and flats. If you want to sell your house quickly you need to get rid of the clutter and the rubbish. First of all, decide whether you can manage on your own or you need to hire a house clearance service. The way to do that is by going through your belongings and taking an inventory of the things you need to get rid of. Some of them will be small items which are not that heavy or hard to throw away. Others, however, will need special careelectronic appliances, furniture, etc.

If you need professional service for the clearance, look for a company online or in local listings. Read recommendations and check the forums as this is the quickest way to find a reputable company and beware of rogue companies. After you find the company, ask them to pay you a visit and determine firm quote for the clearance. Set a date for it and decide how much you can do yourself. Sort out the belongings you need to get rid of and decide whether some of them can be given to charity or sold. There is nothing wrong with making some extra money from your old items. If you have items of which value you are not sure, get them valued before you throw them away. Keep in mind that the company you are hiring should have the required licenses for carrying waste and recycling. They should also offer you insurance. Dont pay the company before the full house clearance job has been done.

Once you get rid of all the clutter, paint the walls and tidy up. Get a photographer to take quality pictures of your home to put in the ad for the sale. In this business first impression is everythingunless you advertise the house well, how would you expect people to come for a viewing. The key stage of preparing the house is the full clearance so no matter how much time and money you need for that, it needs to be done. The investment will be worth it.
