Here's a very unique cause: Save America's Cinemas. Why? In 2013, approximately 3,000 small town cinemas and theaters in America will shut down. These
“Mom & Pop” theaters have been part of local communities for
decades, but will no longer be able to stay open because they lack the funds
needed to make the switch to digital equipment at a cost of up to $150,000 per screen. Small town cinema owners,
operating on small margins and modest incomes, do not have the resources
to convert and will close down.
SAVE
AMERICA'S CINEMAS is a 501(C)3 non-profit fundraising group solely
dedicated to providing the financial assistance required to acquire
digital equipment for these theaters. Its mission is to preserve all of these valuable cultural resources,
opportunities and gifts for generations to come and the meaningful
attributes it brings to millions of Americans.
