Consumer Critique: For Dummies (Belly Fat Diet, Birth Plans, Online Reputation Management)

I got a chance to review an eclectic collection of "For Dummies" books. If you don't know anything about this series, the books in it (all written by different authors), take a complicated topic and break it down so that anyone can understand it. Yet, they aren't written in a condescending tone. They're straightforward and easy-to-follow - but still contain information that people who are experienced in the topic will still be able to learn from.

Take these three books, for instanceBelly Fat Diet For Dummies,  Birth Plans For Dummies, and Online Reputation Management For Dummies. I know a lot about healthy eating and I have a fairly trim figure (not perfect, but I'm at a healthy weight). I've given birth twice and did a lot of research on the things I might need to consider for those events. I'm also a blogger, and a teacher, so I need to make sure that my reputation online is solid. The books all covered a lot of the basics that I already knew. But I still was able to learn from them - especially the belly fat diet, since it dove more deeply into certain eating plans.

These books are definitely worth what you pay for them. You get a lot of information, much more quickly than if you were trying to wade through a variety of internet sites. I encourage you to check any of them out - or any of the "For Dummies" series - for just about any topic you might be interested in.

Disclosure: I received complimentary copies of the books to facilitate this review.
