Fun Freetime: DIY Gifts Made by Kids

The holidays are officially upon us, and with kids out of school, parents are always looking for ways to keep their kids busy. Below are some DIY gift ideas easy enough for kids to make and perfect for anyone on your list from the Handstand Kids Cookbook Company.

-       Hot chocolate mix: Get some medium sized mason jars and fill with a layer of hot chocolate mix, mini marshmallows, and crushed peppermint. Tie with a pretty ribbon and gift tag and you've got the perfect present for the chocolate lover on your list.
-       Hand print wreath: Capture your kids' growth with a paper wreath made out of handprints. Have your child trace their hands on green construction paper, and glue them together in a circular shape. Cut out a red bow, and glue to the bottom, making a wreath perfect for grandma and grandpa or far away relatives.
-       Homemade snow globe: Adhere a figurine or photo to the lid of a jar, fill the jar almost full with water, add glitter and glycerin, and let it snow! These make great gifts for teachers and friends.
-       Santa's Cookies: Make your favorite cookie recipe, and place the finished product in a cute basket, or some cellophane tied with a holiday-themed ribbon and the recipe - perfect for a neighbor or the postman!

The Handstand Kids Cookbook Company is a line of kid-friendly cookbooks and cooking accessories that teaches children about the cultures and cuisines of other countries through cooking.
