I love using natural-based cleaners, and one that has been around for generations is laundry booster 20 Mule Team Borax. Borax is a natural mineral - sodium tetraborate. Nothing is added by 20 Mule Team, and it naturally boosts cleaning power for laundry detergents (just add 1/2 cup to your laundry) by softening the water and allowing the detergent to work more effectively.
Borax has worked great for me in the past. When I was washing cloth diapers, it really helped cut the stains. I even know people that have used it to make their own laundry detergent. It can be used as an all-purpose house cleaner and helps cut odors as well.
