Healthy Habits: Fitness Tips for the New Year

Celebrity fitness trainer, New York Times best-selling author, and T.V. personality Jackie Warner gets sweaty for a living. In fact, she thinks healthy sweat is very sexy. That’s why she is proud to be named Official Wisk® Deep Clean® Sweat Ambassador. Warner is partnering with Wisk to launch the “Work It, Wisk It” campaign, challenging people nationwide to commit to working out – and getting sweaty – all year long.

January is the time for New Year resolutions, when millions of people commit to getting active. To help devotees across the country stick to their fitness-related resolutions, Wisk Deep Clean, the performance-tested laundry detergent that attacks hidden body oils and sweat, and Warner are helping people build confidence by getting active and embracing sweat! On Wisk’s Facebook page, people will have access to tips and tools from Warner and Wisk.  They’ll also have the opportunity to ask Warner their most pressing fitness questions during a live question and answer session on January 9 at 12:30 p.m., and during her Wisk Twitter party in early February.  In addition, fitness fans can share their sweat-filled photos to enter the “Work It, Wisk It” Sweepstakes for the chance to win an all-expense paid trip to Los Angeles for a private workout session with Warner.

Among Warner’s secrets to good sweat is a positive mind-set, which involves things like chasing the burn instead of running from it, or finding ways to increase intensity by putting together a great music playlist that inspires you to stay active.

10 “Work It, Wisk It!” Fitness Tips
From Celebrity Fitness Trainer Jackie Warner
  • 1.   Writing down your workout routine can help you stay on track.
  • 2.   Don’t just set weight loss goals, set athletic goals.
  • 3.   Make workouts fun. Incorporate something you’ve always wanted to do, like learning how to box or dance.
  • 4.   Don’t be afraid to sweat!
  • 5.   Ten minutes of intense training is much more effective then an hour of unfocused training.
  • 6.       Eat healthy, nutrient rich foods and drink plenty of water.
  • 7.       Changing up your workout routine once a month (including cardio) will help keep progress in motion.
  • 8.       To see results, do four days a week of 20 minutes of interval cardio followed by 30 minutes of power circuit training.
  • 9.       Be patient. Don’t expect miracles overnight.  Most people don’t see results for 6-8 weeks.
  • 10.   Clean out that gym bag! Get rid of the hidden sweat and body oils in your workout clothes with Wisk® Deep Clean®.
