People are often wondering what to get for present. It is very hard to buy something and fit somebody else’s taste. What is anyway common for all presents we bring are the flowers. They are always present and accompanying every occasion and event. It can be anniversary, birthday or wedding. They are even at the saddest moments in people’s life.
It can be very useful to know how to make simple arrangements, in order not to have to run to the florists for every small bouquet you want to give somebody. If you know few essential tips you will be able to make beautiful arrangements for friends and family and even make it with flowers from your own garden. That will be extremely kind for every person.
When you are beginner at this it is good to stick to the simple. Do not use bright colors and do not put flowers that are contrasting, because you can choose the wrong combination. However when you get more confident with time you can start experimenting and go for colors like red and blue and even mix them in one arrangement.
In case you want to add dramatic look to your bouquet you can try to make the next arrangement. Take several kinds of flowers with the same hue. Good choices will be for example the ruby-red dahlias or the maroon snapdragons. Start arranging the other basic color which in this case will be blue in your hand. For this contrasting bouquet you can pick larkspur, blue veronica, asters and lisianthus all in dark blue or purple. As you are already holding them put the others with the red color between them. The more the dark flowers are, the bigger the contrast gets. Remember that one last thing and decide for your self what level of drama you want to achieve in this arrangement. The obligatory green parts will find their place at the edges of the bouquet. The flowers you have used will best go with ivy, hosta and euphorbia.
For the next suggestion you will only need violet and purple flowers. They always look very elegant and stylish and have the ability to mingle with the clashing shades as they took the best of them and create special calm and tranquil atmosphere. To put the artistic spirit in your vase cut some bunches from some of the next flowers – tulips, irises, hydrangeas and hyacinths. For those that can be seen in more than one color make sure that for this special arrangement you have picked only those from the indigo color range. Leave them in bunches as they are divided in their kinds, do not mix them like with the other arrangements. To mark the center of the bouquet, pick the brightest flowers. Thus you will also create focal point in your arrangement. On the opposite side of the bouquet put greeneries to contrast the focal point.
There are many people who fall for the huge arrangements. They are their favorite ones to give and receive. Here is one suggestion in case you are one such person. Gladiolus is the best choice for huge arrangements. They are always tall and high. They usually go very well with other flowers as well. For this arrangement pick some in bright and dramatic colors, like red and white. You will also need big container which is very stable as well. A red colored bucket will also do great job. Put the gladioluses to spread nicely in the bucket and then finish with round clusters of sedum.
