Consumer Critique: GoldToe and PowerSox

I recently had a chance to review some products from GoldToe and PowerSox. It was perfect timing, since I needed some new socks.

The GoldToe product I received were over-the-knee black socks. I've been looking for some really long socks, as knee-highs sometimes slip down and then leave a weird gap between my hemline and socks when I'm wearing dresses and skirts. These fit the bill. I'm average height (5'7") and these were long enough to go over my knee. They were warmer and thicker than I expected, which is fine - I really only wear knee-highs in the winter and don't wear anything in the summer.

The PowerSox are very lightweight, and quite cool on my feet for working out. They stay put as I'm moving around, too, which is great - no bunching up in my shoes. The only downside is they seem a little small. I'm right in the middle of the size range, and while they fit me (8.5 shoe size), it's hard to believe they'd actually go up to a size 10. So if you're a 9 or 10, you might want to go up a size just to be on the safe side.

There are a variety of Gold Toe/PowerSox retail partners, including Macy's, JCPenney, Kohl's, Dick's, and Famous Footwear. They also have a great selection online in a variety of colors.

Disclosure: I received complimentary samples of socks to facilitate this post.
