Consumer Critique: Urban Gardening for Dummies

I recently had a chance to review Urban Gardening For Dummies. As someone who lives in a first-ring suburb, I was very interested in this. We're fortunate to have a decent-sized backyard, but we were able to learn some tips from this book in maximizing the space we do have so we can have a good-sized garden and still have room to enjoy the rest of the yard. This book is even more appropriate for those with even less space though - those with a townhouse or small yard; those who have a balcony, roof access, or fire escape; even people who just have a window.

Some of the techniques covered include square foot gardening, maximizing vertical space, controlling pests, container gardening, and even composting. It's a good, comprehensive guide for those who want to grow any of their own food but don't think they have the space to do it.
