Here's a fun wintertime activity courtesy of Creative Kidstuff: ice bird feeder.
Supplies:
Directions:
STEP ONE: Place a cup in the pan to create a hole for hanging
[Sue Says: Place a few rocks in the bottom of the cup so it does not float up and leave a layer of ice in the hole.]
STEP TWO: Cover the bottom of the pan with birdseed
STEP THREE: Pour a little water into the pan and freeze for a few hours
STEP FOUR: Add a second layer of birdseed
STEP FIVE: Add more water to fill the entire pan
STEP SIX: When the entire pan is frozen solid, run it under hot water to release from the pan
STEP SEVEN: Attach with twine or ribbon to an outdoor tree
