SiriusXM’s Doctor Radio Reports: "Living in Fear: Parenting a Violent Child" will air live on March 29 from 10:00 – 11:00 am ET on SiriusXM Doctor Radio channel 81. SiriusXM’s Doctor Radio Reports: "Living in Fear: Parenting a Violent Child" will replay on March 30 at 6:00 pm ET and on March 31 at 8:00 pm ET.

Peltz, Dr. Aronoff and Long will explore a wide range of issues and offer advice and experts on topics including: children on mood-altering and anti-psychotic drugs, extreme tantrums, children living with undiagnosed mental illness and violent kids at school who have been moved to a special classroom or special school because of behavioral issues.

Liza Long is a writer and mother of four living in Idaho. "A few weeks ago, Michael pulled a knife and threatened to kill me and then himself after I asked him to return his overdue library books. His 7 and 9 year old siblings knew the safety plan—they ran to the car and locked the doors before I even asked them to.” Long wrote specifically about hospitalizing her son after a violent outburst. "On the intake form, under the question, 'What are your expectations for treatment?' I wrote, 'I need help.' And I do. This problem is too big for me to handle on my own.

Michael S. Aronoff, MD is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the NYU School of Medicine and co-host of the weekly psychiatry show on Doctor Radio. He specializes in family/couples therapy and forensic psychiatry.
