Parenting Pointers: Spring Break Travel Safety

ABC News recently reported that Spring Break airfare is up almost double digits compared to last year, which may inspire many Americans to drive to their Spring Break destinations. AutoMD.com reminds drivers to stay safe on the roads this Spring, especially if they encounter a breakdown.

AutoMD.com offers the following safety tips for drivers to remember if they encounter a breakdown. These tips serve as a refresher for all drivers and an especially important reminder for young adult drivers who might be road tripping this year for Spring Break.

Top Five Things to Remember if Your Vehicle Breaks Down
1. Get your car off the road
2. Call for help
3. Alert others with lights and signals
4. Stay in your car while waiting for help to arrive unless it is absolutely unsafe to do so
5. If you have a flat tire or a tire blowout, pull onto a flat area if possible so that a car jack can be used safely and properly.
