Caring Causes: Teacher Appreciation Program

Teacher Appreciation Week might have been last week, but as a teacher, I know how nice it feels to be supported all year round. My husband and I both work in education, and money is extremely tight. So tight that I also juggle a variety of money-making hobbies and part-time jobs to help balance the budget, but sometimes, it's still not enough. Add to the fact that many teachers have to buy their own supplies for the classroom, and it's really nice to know that there are programs out there to help give back to teachers.
By supporting teachers, parents and students through a variety of give-back programs, including
the Star Teacher Program, Office Depot’s Teacher Appreciation Week, the Office Depot Foundation’s National Backpack Program and its most recent endeavor with REAL Change Productions, Office Depot helps to recognize inspirational teachers and raise classroom funds to offset out-of-pocket expenses.
Shine the spotlight on teachers and help inspire change. By visiting www.officedepot.com/realchange, teachers can register their classrooms for support, and participants can donate directly to a school or educator who has impacted their own life. With funds donated being matched by Office Depot until May 31 and distributed through AdoptAClassroom.org, an organization that connects donors with teachers, every contribution counts.
