If you're like me, it's hard to come up with a good Mother's Day gift. My mom doesn't really want a whole lot. So instead, I often donate to a cause near and dear to her heart. This year, I think I'll pick these:
The Global Opportunity Quilt allows you to choose a patch to honor your mom. It's a digital quilt, and you can choose from one of 20 patches (or create your own) for $5. The money goes to make loans available to women starting their own businesses, providing them training and support to be successful.
You can also send an e-card to raise money for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation to help reduce the transmission of HIV from mother to child. It costs $19 to help a new mother get tested, which enables her to receive treatment and prevent passing the disease on to her babies.
Instead of getting something else for the woman who has everything, consider sending your support to moms who have so little.
