Fun Freetime: Communication Game

For a twist on mundane tasks, try turning them into communication games. You follow the instructions exactly as your child says. For example, if you're making a peanut butter sandwich and your child says to spread peanut butter on the bread but forgets to tell you to take it out of the bag, it's going to be a funny mess - and a lesson in being accurate. Or, have your child draw a picture or build something with blocks without showing you. Then have him or her give you instructions to see if you can copy it exactly (without him or her looking at your in-progress product).
