- Try to be gentle. Some of us tend to worry too much about the hygiene of our baby. I know the deal about this and I quite understand it. However, there is a thin line between giving your baby's hair the proper care between going gaga on his hair care. Since your baby still has little hair, there is no need for you to wash it on a daily basis. In fact, it would be far better if you will do it only when needed or try to do it for every few days. One do not have to be too obsessive in cleaning her child's hair. Avoid applying too much pressure on your baby's head. Rubbing too much will do no good for him. The head of your baby is still soft so applying too much pressure will be dangerous for her.
- Make use of hair products that are especially formulated for babies. Most children and babies do not like to have their hair washed. This is not because they are too lazy but this has something to do with the fact that there is a tendency for the shampoo to get into their eyes when you wash their hair. I am assuming this has already happened to you before and we both know how incredibly painful that can be. Can you imagine that happening to your baby? To avoid this, it would be best that you purchase a hair product that would not be irritating to your baby.
- Since we are already talking about baby shampoos, then I would like to insert this simple trivia. The baby shampoos in the market today are manufactured using very mild ingredients so that they will not sting the eyes. These shampoos also do not contain any sulfates that are usually seen on adult shampoos. However, baby shampoos have a higher ph-Balance as compared to that of adult shampoos. This shift in pH-balance actually promotes hair tangles. This is why it is best that you gradually shift your child's shampoo into less mild ones as they grow old.
- Style! Of course, the vanity of the hair does not end on washing, you must style it too! This is one important aspect of a hair care routine. However, this is only applicable for mothers who have baby girls. Today, you will find various hair clips that are perfect for babies. When choosing a clip, it would be best that you opt for one that has a non- slip clasp. This actually produce a strong hold without tugging at her hair.
