I'm always interested in hearing how people hear God's voice, because I think He speaks to us in so many ways. So I loved the first chapter of A Woman's Guide to Hearing God's Voice. Despite the title, I don't really think it is exclusive to women - it shares more of women's experiences in real life, but relies on predominantly male Biblical experiences. In the first chapter, Leighann McCoy briefly discusses the ways God speaks to us, illustrating that not all of us hear His voice the same way. I also liked that early on she pointed out that wrestling with God was not a bad thing - because sometimes it can be hard to hear, or hard to follow.
The other most helpful part of the book for me was the appendix section. I loved the short list of promises.
If you've read other books about hearing God's voice as I have, this one won't present much different material, but may have a different tone. If you haven't, though, it's a great book to learn how to listen for Him.
