Mothers
know best, and this applies to any aspect of a child’s life. No matter how much
we grow or how much time have elapsed, we can never forget that tender and
loving touch only our mothers can give. However, there is always a first time
in everything. You can’t really expect beginner moms to know it all, especially
if it’s her first time to raise a child. Yes, childbirth is difficult, but
believe it or not, nothing can compare to how hard it is to mold a child.
First
off, there is always this problem of how you would be able to make your child look
as presentable as possible, not to mention the exception of baby poop and stuff
if you’re handling a toddler. When shopping for your child, one main factor
that can highly affect his/her appearance are his/her shoes, and as a mother
turned fairy godmother, you must not only assure that the footwear is
comfortable, but that it is also versatile and will provide protection to your
child’s feet. After all, you don’t want sprained ankles and other injuries
which will definitely cause a week’s worth of tantrums.
The Feet and Fit
The
first thing you might want to regard highly is the most appropriate shoe size
for your kid. In measuring, you must be able to get the length and the width of
the feet andif you find yourself asking if how often you should change his/her
shoes, you must take note of age. While a toddler’s feet grow absolutely
faster, children’s feet change in size after every 6 months, meaning, you might
want to look for a pair with a considerable amount of space on the toe box.
This would not only allow movement, but it would also save you the hassle and
the expenses of buying shoes twice a year.
The Quality
Not
only does size matter, but the materials used in creating the shoes and its
flexibility and durability as well. When shopping, look for a pair that is made
up of materials which will not be harsh on your child’s skin, especially when
you’re looking for toddler’s shoes. Otherwise, you might just be inviting
corns, calluses and blisters to feast on your child’s feet.
In
choosing the right shoe, you must consider how heavily your child’s feet
perspire. Since this is the case, the top material of the footwear should allow
the feet to breathe, meaning the worst shoe top would be those made in plastic.
Also, the sole of the shoes must be highly absorbent and ready for a truckload
of sweat. The shoes should also provide enough support and cushioning so that
your kid won’t be exposed to much accidents.
There
is no law that prohibits children to wear high heels, but if you’re smart
enough, you wouldn’t let your child walk and run around using high-heeled
shoes. The best shoes for toddlers are flats so that they wouldn’t have
problems in practicing walking. Children, however, may use heels not higher
than 1 inch.
