The title of the book Human Remains is a little creepy - especially with the tagline "How well do you know your neighbors?"In the book, Annabel discovers her neighbor is dead - and has been for some time - without anyone noticing. Since she works for the local law enforcement, she realizes there's an alarming up-tick in bodies being found with no sign of violence. I can't say much more without giving everything away. I can, however, say that the frightening possibility of what goes on in this book adds so much more than other mysteries that are about isolated cases. The book is well-written, an easy read, and the main characters - Annabel and Colin - are developed to a strong extent. The end shocked me, even though I should have seen it coming all along. It's not very gory, other than the initial body discovery, but it's psychologically creepy. I liked it.
