Yiftee, local gifts on-the-go, and NFL Pro-Bowler, Vernon Davis, are launching a creative fundraiser for Mr. Davis’s Foundation for the Arts, which is putting art supplies and art scholarships in the hands of youth dealing with stress and peer pressure in chaotic situations; keeping them safely away from the drugs, guns, streets and crime. Mr. Davis is giving 20,000 Yiftee gifts to his fans who respond to his social media messages, download the Yiftee iPhone™ or Android™ app and enter a secret code. Anticipating that the 20,000 gifts will go fast, additional fans who download the app and enter the code up until November 25, 2013 will be entered in a Grand Prize Drawing to win two tickets to the December 8, 2013 San Francisco 49ers™ game vs. the Seattle Seahawks™, a limited edition
49er jersey autographed by Mr. Davis, or $100 Yiftee bucks to buy more gifts for their friends. No purchase is required, limit one gift per person.
“We are thrilled to make VDFA the Yiftee charity of choice, and our goal is to raise at least
$50,000,” said Lori Laub, Yiftee co-founder, “Yiftee is a social gifting app and website, and with gifting, it’s the thought that counts. When a gift recipient doesn’t have time to pick up his gift, he can donate it to charity in one click. These donations will all go to VDFA, to help kids find creative way to express themselves.”
Vernon Davis started VDFA in 2010 to promote art education and appreciation among youth from disadvantaged backgrounds. “I’m as passionate about the power of art as I am about football – both made significant differences in my life,” commented Mr. Davis, “it is a privilege to be able to work with kids to lift their spirits and fulfill their dreams through art. With Yiftee, I get to appreciate my fans with thoughtful gifts, support local businesses and fulfill the VDFA vision.”
Yiftee customers give gifts such as a latte or a lunch to their friends to say thank you, happy birthday or thinking of you. These gifts benefit local shops and restaurants by driving profitable business into their stores. Mr. Davis is pleased to participate as a merchant, offering fans the choice of a gift at his local Jamba Juice® franchise store at 3942 Rivermark Plaza, Santa Clara, CA, among other local venues.
Award-winning Yiftee lets consumers send thoughtful, unexpected gifts (many under $20) to friends, family and colleagues quickly via email, mobile and social media. Recipients pick up their Yiftee gifts using their smart phones at favorite local restaurants and shops, driving profitable business to local merchants. To be featured, merchants simply sign up; there is no monthly fee, no special technology and no discounting required. Merchants gain additional sales, foot traffic, an eGifting capability like the big retailers and a free mobile/web sales channel.
The Vernon Davis Foundation for the Arts was created by artist, athlete, and philanthropist Vernon Davis to promote art education and art appreciation among youth from disadvantaged backgrounds. They fulfill their mission by providing scholarships to dedicated art students and grants to deserving nonprofit programs who share in our ideals. The Vernon Davis Foundation for the Arts envisions communities where the arts are vital to social development and represent a positive alternative for youth dealing with stress and peer pressure. Through the arts, youth can find new ways to express themselves, to lift their spirits and fulfill their dreams.
Yiftee and the Vernon Davis Foundation for the Arts (VDFA) have teamed up to thank Mr. Davis’s fans with Yiftee gifts and raise $50,000 to fund art for youth with disadvantaged backgrounds.
