A recent study has found that 90% of 12 to 19 year olds listen to music
with earbuds, and that as many as 30% of these teens listen at a volume
high enough to permanently damage their hearing. 3M wants to do
something to change this
number.
On
Wednesday, Oct. 16, 3M and Dangerous Decibels are co-sponsoring a free public workshop where families and kids can watch local teams build
special sound level mannequins - or Jolenes as we
call them, learn more about hearing loss from 3M hearing experts, and
have their iPods and music players tested for dangerous sound levels.
They'll have activities, snacks, and more! It will be heald at Tartan Park – 11455 20th Street North, St. Paul, MN 55042 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.
This will be a fun and educational experience for families and kids, and its completely
FREE!
