So, it's kind of funny that I'm going to write a post online about e-addiction - overuse of electronic gadgets. But the Internet and gadgets can be used appropriately. However, there gets to be a point when it's too much. Especially when your kids notice - or they've learned by example and you see that they have a problem.
So what can you do about it? First, recognize that it is a problem. Then, discuss it with your family. If you make it a family issue, you can help hold each other accountable. Come up with your own plan. For example, I work from home, so I can't not use the computer. However, I do make Sunday a no-computer day for myself.
It also helps to replace with a new habit. If you find yourself jumping on the computer every chance you get, make it a point to exercise or do a creative activity like arts or music instead. You might find that you can re-awaken old talents, become more fit, or learn how to bake from scratch instead!
